PARL vs Malta 2026: Three Wins and Filipino Pride on Display

What an amazing day of rugby league for the Philippines Australia Rugby League community. Sunday’s matches against Malta delivered three wins across four grades, with determination and Filipino pride on display.


  • Our Under 16 Men showed tremendous resilience, overcoming a 24–14 halftime deficit to win 32–28.

  • Our Under 18 Women secured an 18–4 victory, keeping Malta scoreless in the second half.

  • Our Under 18 Men, despite a 34–14 defeat, gave us efforts to be proud of and lessons to carry forward.

  • Our Open Men’s Admirals claimed a 22–12 win. 



As proud as we are of those results, the meaning of the day reaches beyond the scoreboard.


We’re winning because we get to play and watch the sport we love under the banner of our Filipino heritage. Every time our players wear that jersey, they represent their families, their roots and the community behind them.


We’re winning through solidarity, teamwork and unity. That spirit extends from our players to the coaches, managers, trainers, volunteers and supporters who make these opportunities possible. Every contribution matters.


We’re still growing, and there will always be room to improve - in our preparation, communication, organisation and performances. What matters is our willingness to listen, learn and support one another. With shared purpose and everyone doing their part, we can turn our goals into achievements.



Every day like Sunday gives us another opportunity to raise the bar. Progress might be a comeback victory, a lesson learned, a stronger connection or someone finding confidence. Each helps build PARL’s future.
