St.George Bank Backs PARL and Filipino-Australian Rugby League

PARL is proud to welcome St.George Bank, a division of Westpac Group, as a new sponsor supporting our Filipino-Australian rugby league community.

This partnership has a special connection to our PARL family. Behind it is Judith Nguyen, Senior Lending Manager at St.George Bank, whose nephew Lachlan Michael Tiqui (Locki) currently plays for the PARL Junior Boys Under 18s.

What started as a conversation between family has grown into a partnership supporting our players and the future of Philippines Rugby League in Australia.

A Family Connection to PARL

Judith’s connection to PARL comes through her nephew Locki, who has been playing rugby league for approximately six years.

Judith is the first cousin of Locki’s mum, and their families have always been close. At a family gathering, Locki’s dad mentioned that PARL was looking for sponsors. Having worked with St.George Bank for more than 30 years, Judith saw an opportunity to bring the two communities together.

She approached St.George Bank and worked with the leadership team to secure the sponsorship, with the initiative receiving strong support from the bank’s State Manager.

For Judith, supporting PARL was personal.

“What inspired me was the opportunity to help a community organisation that provides young people with a positive environment to develop their sporting skills, confidence, and teamwork.”

Through Locki, Judith and her family have seen the passion and commitment behind PARL - from the players pulling on the jersey to the coaches, volunteers and families supporting them.

With Judith’s own son having played rugby when he was younger, supporting junior sport also holds a special place in her family. They now hope some of their younger relatives might one day follow Locki’s footsteps and become part of PARL too.

Judith has been with St.George Bank for more than 30 years and has worked as a Senior Lending Manager for over 10 years.

She is passionate about helping customers achieve their property goals and providing personalised lending solutions.

Judith can assist with first home buyer loans, investment property lending, refinancing, construction loans, renovation funding, debt consolidation, equity releases and additional lending for personal needs such as home improvements, vehicles and travel.

She assists customers across Australia, with appointments available via phone, Microsoft Teams or face-to-face where practical.
