Philippines Ranked 26th in the World (Men) and 22nd in the World (Women)

The latest International Rugby League (IRL) World Rankings have the Philippines Men's team ranked 26th in the world and the Philippines Women's team ranked 22nd in the world.

These rankings reflect the performances of nations across international rugby league over the current season and the previous three seasons. For many countries, rankings are simply numbers on a table. For Philippines Rugby League, they represent something bigger. They represent every player who has worn the jersey with pride, every volunteer who has given their time, every coach who has invested in the next generation, and every supporter who has believed that Filipino rugby league belongs on the international stage.

Understanding the IRL World Rankings

The Official International Rugby League World Rankings are calculated using results from the current season and the previous three seasons.

Teams earn points based on:

  • Match results (wins, losses, and draws)

  • Margin of victory or defeat

  • Strength of opposition

  • How recent the match was

  • Importance of the match, with Rugby League World Cup fixtures carrying the greatest value

More recent performances are weighted more heavily, rewarding nations that continue to improve and compete at a high level. Only officially sanctioned senior international matches are included in the rankings.

A Growing Presence in International Rugby League

Over the past decade, Philippines Rugby League has continued to expand its footprint both at home and abroad.

From grassroots participation and representative pathways to international competition, the game continues to grow because of the commitment of players, coaches, administrators, volunteers, families, and supporters who believe in the vision.

The progress of the Women's program is particularly encouraging, with the Philippines currently ranked 22nd in the world. The continued growth of female participation and development pathways remains an important part of the future of Philippine Rugby League.

Meanwhile, the Men's program continues its journey at 26th in the world, building towards stronger performances and greater consistency on the international stage.

Chasing Progress, Not Perfection

The most exciting part of these rankings is not where we are today.

It's where we can go next.

As a rugby league nation, we are still writing our story.

Every season presents a chance to set new standards, achieve new milestones, and create moments that future generations will look back on with pride.

The goal isn't simply to compare ourselves with other nations.

The goal is to be better than we were yesterday.

To create stronger pathways.

To develop better players.

To provide more opportunities.

To inspire the next generation of Filipinos to dream bigger.
