PARL Welcomes New Chairman: Genesis Yuseco

Message from PARL Chairman: Firstly, thank you. Sincerely, for the trust and confidence that you've placed in me. To be elected as Chairman of the Philippines Australia Rugby League is a true honour.

One of the things I take greatest pride in is my Filipino heritage. I was born in the Philippines, and grew up here in Australia. So, to lead an organisation that brings together my culture and the game I love most, that's truly special.

Rugby league has always been my passion. I started playing as a junior, but my parents worried about safety. A lot of the other kids were simply bigger, stronger, and so they nudged me toward basketball. But my love for rugby league never left, and it makes this moment even more meaningful.

What matters now is where we go together. Our filipino community is full of passionate people. Players, coaches, officials, supporters, volunteers, filipino people who give their time purely because they care.

My commitment is simple. I'll listen, I'll work as a team, and help create opportunities for juniors, for women in league, for all our clubs, so everyone that wants to wear that Filipino colours feels welcome and proud. Success won't come from one person. It'll come from all of us, side by side, with respect, clear communication, and a shared love for the game.

I want to acknowledge those who've built this before me. The foundation you've laid is strong, and I'm so thankful for your work. To everyone here, thank you. It's a privilege to serve, and I can't wait to see what we'll build together.
